Awwww, the poor things, having to read stuff as part of their history studies.

The point isn't that they have to read the books, it that the ancient histories are so filled with fanciful nonsense (rather than straight fact... and it's very difficult to tell the two apart) that they don't feel like a "real" history book. But they're our sources from the time and they tell us a lot more than people like this guy think. And, heck, they're far more fun than a dry textbook.
